Our primary goal is to bring a scientific lens to better understand if and how service dogs may help veterans in need and their families.

We’re excited that you’re interested in participating in SERVES! Please let your K9s For Warriors or Canine Companions staff contact know, so that they can initiate the process.

The study will last 15 months, and you will be assessed at 6 different periods throughout the study: 0 months, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months and 15 months.

The breed of your service dog does not matter! Because we work in partnership with K9s For Warriors and Canine Companions, any dog placed with you through their programs will qualify for the study

Your participation in each study activity is completely voluntary. You can withdraw from the study at any time or choose not to participate in a given activity.

Veteran participants can earn up to $900 for completing all the study activities. Spouses/partners of veterans can earn up to $220 for completing study activities.
Compensation is based on the completion of each individual study activity. Choosing not to complete an activity will not affect compensation for other completed activities.
